This exhibit provides an intimate look into the diverse cultures and environments in the Latin American region. A portion of the proceeds of sales of Mia’s work will be donated to La Casa de Galilea foundation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mia Baxter, a San Antonio native, has recently gained critical acclaim after her work as the photographer for the book Ana’s Story, a Journey of Hope, and has been invited by Ruiz-Healy Art to presentEyes on Latin America, her first solo exhibition.
A portion of the proceeds of sales of Mia’s work at the reception will be donated to La Casa de Galileafoundation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Many of the photographs in this exhibit were taken in the foundation’s location of Villa Cava, an area in Buenos Aires where over 10,000 residents live in extreme poverty. La Casa de Galilea works to provide assistance and education to the people of this region, and the artist’s passion for this cause is reflected in her photography.
