In the second installment of her Relics Remembered series, Jimenez Underwood reimagines familiar images to create new compositions. These elements form an apex, featuring a gold print of the Virgen de Guadalupe that radiates against the cool-toned fabric. The interplay of green, blue, and black hues evokes a ghostly presence set against the Persian blue background, echoing conceptual practices depicted in her other works. As the title references, this series enables Jimenez Underwood to explore what makes an object a relic, and what makes a relic an icon.
