In Horna’s superimposed version of "Muñeca" photographed in 1949, the featured doll’s limbs are now repositioned to strengthen the image of her grasping at her throat. While before the face was turned away and down, it now looks more directly forward. Behind the doll’s head, hair, and limbs is a stone wall with a closed door, hinting at feelings of entrapment and claustrophobia.
