Fool for Love indicates phrases in Tejano and country music. Armendariz typically writes song lyrics that are not necessarily meant to be sung or recorded but uses them as armatures or stepping stones to get into the conceptual ideas of his work. He tends to listen to a lot of music while writing down phrases and reworking them. "I'm very fascinated with an individual who doesn't do things that ultimately lead to his happiness in love, yet he continues to do these things. The titles come very organically while I'm working with the imagery. They never come before."
