Muro Hopper is a reference to healers or Curanderos/as who do not recognize borders and have moved back and forth with few restrictions. Today, the environment on the border is very different. Border politics and increased security measures have negatively affected the movement of people. This woodblock print speaks to the separation of families and the adverse effects on the natural environment along the Mexico-U.S. border.
