In the second installment of her Relics Remembered series, Jimenez Underwood reimagines familiar images to create new compositions. These elements converge at an apex, where a gold print of the Virgen de Guadalupe radiates against the cool-toned fabric. The interplay of green, blue, and black hues evokes a ghostly presence against the Persian blue background, echoing the conceptual practices seen in her other works. As the title suggests, this series enables Jimenez Underwood to explore what makes an object a relic and what makes a relic an icon.
