Using three of her original butterfly-patterned photopolymer plates
Cabrera created an edition of relief prints running the pennies (U.S.A.
currency) plate printed in a verdigris color ink with an overprint of
the Butterfly Wing Outline plate in black ink and the background plate
was then run in leaf brown. The artist then painted with watercolor in
various areas and added a collage of Border Patrol uniform fabric using Dry-Tac Multi-Tac sheet adhesive and hand stitching.
A unique cactus composition was created using Border Patrol uniform fabric, making each of the 15 limited-edition pieces unique.
