Nate Cassie’s thematic practice centers on the "spaces in between," the gaps that distance surface from volume, skin, and structure, and formal and intuitive systems. Cassie is a conceptual artist based in San Antonio who works in a plethora of media, including functional ceramic pieces. Most of the pieces are intended for communal use, an important idea for the artist. Stoneware sets are intended for serving drinks like mezcal or sake. The works are stamped at the bottom and come with an artist-made tray of cypress and pecan wood.
