Some of Cassie’s works on paper are solitary sketches of a mountain scene, envisioning landscapes before human interventions. While Cassie's thematic focus is often on spaces in between, the sketch of the mountain in the present depicts it unbothered by human activity. By viewing these landscapes without human intervention, we are encouraged to see the difference between the effects of man and those of nature over time. The intimacy of drawing allows for the immediate recording of the landscape, just as it is to the world in that moment.
