"Made to use by nomadic cultures, the yurt is like a large gathering, the fire made in the center with a hole at the top. You need a family, heat, and a place to settle. I stayed in a yurt in West Texas. It was a complete circle, a female symbol, and no corners. I became aware of the passages of the sun, moon, and stars. The light changed, casting shadows, and winds made soft thunder noises that had a percussion rhythm that was comforting." - Joan Fabian.
