Words Series explores the relationship between text and its effect on the viewer’s interpretation of an image. In this series, the text is superimposed on top of an image that either describes the image, highlights a specific detail, or creates a whole meaning. Through this play of text and imagery, Ramirez challenges the viewer to look beyond their first impression. By inserting words in images the artist tries to accomplished to get the viewer to look beyond the obvious.
