The artist says, "a series of works were created to offer a visual narrative of the life of Blanca Estela, my grandmother, and her family who lived in Coahuila, Mexico and left during the Mexican Revolution. With just her young mother she rode the train as a child under her skirt to San Antonio, TX. I creates this print from a painting done in Rome that was later sold in Chicago. I wanted to offer my aunts and uncles an image of their parent's home to remember them by. My grandparents have passed and the house was sold so recollection to me was important.
The portfolio of works created as prints and video documentation will be archived at the Benson Latin American Library at the University of Texas at Austin.1of 4
