Though flea markets at the time...When Kati Horna moved to Paris in 1933, she was captivated by the flea markets and produced her first photographic series, "Marchés aux puces". Though flea markets at the time were already a popular source of inspiration, particularly for the Surrealists, Horna placed her distinct artistic signature on the subject through her eerie scenes of dolls, mannequins, and various used and broken furniture.
