Sheridan is pictured holding the anthropomorphic puppet in her right hand, and the two appear to be gazing at each other. Horna often photographed the featured women of "Mujeres" with props. Art historian Christina L. De León comments: “The juxtaposition of an accomplished woman with what might be a child’s toy is deliberately jarring and even peculiar, but the strategy is also one that certainly became a hallmark of Horna’s portrait photography in Mexico. She used such objects to both reveal something more about her sitter and also to provoke questions without answers, a strategy that ironically (and deliberately) made the photographed subject more unknowable or mysterious, and thus more complex.”Exhibitions
