Dorados, the golden works in Quid Pro Quo, present a series of texts written in a typography associated with Catholicism which accentuates the religious look of the pieces. The references to religious art in Mexico are invoked to explore, among other things, an irreconcilable contradiction between the metaphysical meanings associated to gold and the general understanding on this material under a perception governed by alienation. This matter proves interesting in a present where we can find a scenery for gold, where gold apparently plays as a strong presence in contemporary art.
