The sculpture, The Light Within, 1994, is depicted in this sketch as the larger scheme. The other drawings are just variants of shape, size and arrangement of elements. This sketch is a later year, 1995. These are two sketches which in turn are two later variants-1994 and 1995 respectively.

When asked why many of her sketches have dates later than the execution of the dates after the execution of the sculptures they illustrate, Teresa stated that these drawings are often later versions that restate her already made sculptures, so that they can be seen as projects that "improve" or simply contemplate variations on Serrano's own work that has already materialized.
