Ferrandis’ work comprises acrylic on wood, polyester, aluminum, objet trouvé, or found objects. The words ‘Sun’ and ‘rise’ are positioned diagonally across a horizontal aluminum plane reflecting a dulled beam from a light source. The found objects’ unique qualities weave into a complete array of lines and light gradients created by three-dimensional separation. Ferrandis says, “In my text-based series, words get attached to paintings as part of the creative process. In some of my pieces, words integrate as an ensemble, like subtitles on a film, to better comprehend and understand the artwork as a hybrid piece.”
