This project focuses on memory and the landscape by casting pieces of plant matter in bronze to commemorate the connection that my grandmother and I have to a particular piece of land. The completed wall installation of glistening bronze cotton spurs acted as a threshold into a collective memory of star-like wild flowers on my grandmother’s property and also as an interconnected history of South Texas cotton fields.
