In Pennsylvania, the artist had the opportunity to enter a factory closed for years. Once the permits were made, she was able to enter with a guide for a short time. In this case, it was a silk spinning mill, abandoned with the machines in place, some with silk lined, half done. The soaring ceilings it resembled a sacred place, suspended in time. As she traveled through space, she found pieces of silk that were tying one to the other. In the end, she had enough to create a dress. The assemblage of delicately layered fringes displays themes of destruction and rebuilding.
