César A. Martínez reimagines Mexican-American culture through his own lens, creating a presence of representation when it was lacking, and using his usual style of colorful backgrounds to contrast his subjects diversity and spirit behind the silhouette. In "Red Bato", Martínez uses a mixture of Spanish slang and English to make a statement of individuality for every subject he paints, as well as paying homage to photography and architecture.
