"Her work can be described as playful explorations where text, photographic images and abstract gestures all collide." - Marco Aquino, San Antonio Current
"I make work that starts with imagery that I manipulate on the computer, both family photos, selfies and extrapolations, drawings, and iterations of specific art historical images. These digital images get worked and reworked, played with, and manipulated on the computer, in ways that are both stable and change over time. I might have an image where I change the color structure or move some of the image components around and then they are printed onto surfaces that usually have some kind of textural diffusion, so fuzziness. I print them on flocked paper for the works on paper and beach towels for the paintings." - Gaby Collins-Fernandez
