"I’m not going to mince words, so when I was growing up, there was this kind of understanding that art made by people who were white was somehow more professional than art coming from a Mexican artist, whose work was ‘wonky’ or ‘weird’, or not considered museum standard. So the whole issue of what is quality work. Why is one thing quality and another not?"
