Made from cotton bandanas, the Campesino Silk Flag honors the field and farm workers who wear them to protect against pesticides. The humble bandana is paired with DuPont silk and sturdy linen thread to represent the nation's range and tenacity, creating “a flag for all.” The uniform stars of the U.S. flag are replaced with free-floating flowers inspired by hieroglyphic Mayan-Olmec imagery, symbolically unifying the people with the land and its history.
