"This work was inspired by the journey from Austria to America that my mother traveled on the RMS Olympic, the sister ship of the Titanic. I imagined this ship being built to carry her onto her adventures, leaving her home and facing new challenges. She felt fear and excitement as she stayed in the lower depths of the ship. When she reached America she was "renamed" by immigration officials because there were too many Johannas. So she was called Jennie." - Joan Fabian.
