A Knife Out Of A Cloud examines the mixture of rousing and frightening
feelings, along with the ever-present sense that one never knows what the
future holds for them. The title of the exhibition references W. S. Merwin’s
ambiguous and aspirational poem “October.”

The clouds are a theme that tends to run through my work, they signify
transition or change: clouds moving across the sky. Depending on what
they look like, it's a sign of change in the weather. That analogy applies to

our contemporary life, our current moment. People may be a little uncer-
tain from these three years of the pandemic that we are coming out of.

There's change that is happening, it is exciting but also scary at times. You
are not sure, you do not know what the future holds for you. I think most of
it from my view has a more positive spin than not, or hopeful I guess you
could say."
