Using 2 of her original butterfly patterned photopolymer plates we created an edition of blind debossed relief prints running first the Pennies plate then the Butterfly Wing Outline plate, both with no color added. The artist then painted with watercolor in various areas of each print. This format comes from the use of the original photopolymer plates from the Artist's 2008 Artpace residency. They were created to hold and relief print butterfly shaped copper pieces with a butterfly wing outline and a US penny image arrangement. The copper pieces were constructed into individual butterflies and incorporated into a sprawling site-specific sculpture. These plates are used here as traditional relief printing plates.
