The Polaroid One-Step was the first easy-to-use, consumer-friendly camera that, as its developer, Dr. Edwin Land, put it, took away the "barriers between the photographer and his subject". The camera was born out of a question from Land's daughter, who was confused about why she wasn't able to see the photographs he was taking of their family vacation "right now". Andrés Ferrandis appropriates the simplicity of the Polaroid One-Step, cutting and layering its image with brightly-colored pieces of felt and paper in his collages "Moving Image #1" through "Moving Image #4".
