"Stretch" is an endless treasure trove of appropriated and created imagery. This work combines found tags and labels with original drawings of abstract, organic forms from the artist's personal notebooks. We can appreciate Jímenez's love for juxtaposing high and low culture in "Stretch" as he has added found labels from "Laughing Cow" to "Hotel del Carmen" and a fortune cookie that in poor Spanish loosely translates to "The secret of being young is to have good health and to lie about your age." The amalgamation of imagery and text creates a chaotic relationship and devises a contemporary iconography for Mexico.
