"At one point, one must, simply must just stop and listen. The one sculptural piece in "Listening to Berlin" invites viewers/listeners to do just that. I sat. Listened. Basked. Felt the finely polished wood like silk to the touch. Immersed myself in the space surrounded by Berlin’s words; the language was in English in the original signs, Ethel tells me later when I ask the question I first formulate while I sit there and listen to the city.
