Katie Pell: Common Threads
Ruiz-Healy Art is pleased to present special exhibition Katie Pell: Common Threads in honor of beloved late San Antonio artist Katie Pell. The exhibition featured Pell's engraved objects originally commissioned by Artpace, as well as handpainted diptychs that told the story of her adventurous childhood exploring the lush woods of Delaware. Also exhibited were charcoal drawings of students from a 1970's yearbook, serving as studies of the progression of fads from the 1960's through the following decade, as well as album cover collages and large charcoal and pastel paintings framed in mirrored plexiglass. The opening reception of the show was particularly special, rallying Pell's loved ones in the community to create a net of support and love for Katie.
